Frequently Asked Questions - Metabolic Typing

Picture

Here at Empowering Fitness we get a lot of questions every day. As a result, we figured we would save you some time and energy and answer the most frequently asked questions right here.

Q.  What is Metabolic Typing?

A: Metabolic Typing is about eating the foods that your particular body is intended to utilize for optimum health, vitality, and balance.  Watch the video on the "Nutrition" page for an introduction.

Q.  How long do I have to eat this way?

A: This is not another diet, it is simply a way of living.  As you begin to eat the right quality foods in the right quantities, your body will naturally find it’s balanced weight and energy.  When you feel the freedom and power of eating right for your metabolic type, you just might notice you naturally lean towards these foods instead of things you used to grab for.

Q. I What if I don’t cook very much?

A: We provide easy-to-use recipes on this site, as well as cookbooks for sale that are just right for your metabolic type.

Q.  Why do I get hungry every 2 to 3 hours and feel I need a snack to get me through the day?

A: If you are eating the proper percentages of protein, fats and carbohydrates in the proper amounts you won’t find yourself hungry every 2 hours.

Q. Why do I feel physically full but am still really hungry?

A: There could be many reasons for this, and going through the program will certainly get to the bottom of it.  But generally speaking, if you’re not eating the right kinds of foods in the proper proportions, that is often the feeling.  Your body is not absorbing nutrients as it should and is physically full but not getting what it needs.

Q.  I’m afraid you’re going to tell me I can’t eat something I really like.  Will I be able to eat the foods I love?

A: In the program we will discuss the “why” in eating.  Properly fueling our bodies is important if functioning at your best is a valuable component in your life.  Unless you have a food-sensitivity, there are certainly ways to incorporate your favorite foods.

Q.  I don’t have enough time to cook a lot nor think about what I am going to eat all the time; will this program still work for me?

A:  At the beginning of anything new you embark on, change can sometimes feel challenging.  But once you start implementing a few new things at a time, it becomes second nature.

Q.  I have diabetes; can I still take part of your program?

A:  Absolutely.  This is a holistic lifestyle program helping people live the healthiest and most fulfilling lives as possible.  Diabetes has dramatically increased over the past few decades and is only growing.  Lack of proper food, not enough movement and exercise, inadequate sleep, and unattended stress tip the scale and create all sorts of problems.  Find what works for you, and get back into your natural balance.

Q. What will my doctor say?

A:  This is a very natural, holistic, program. I have yet to find a doctor that is in opposition of this program.  That being said, it is important that you notify your doctor of any programs you start.   I have worked in conjunction with doctors to ensure a team effort in supporting you the best way possible.
